Backups and Synchronisation of files

A really nice and simple solution for all those

• who need to regularly backup their work, but find it takes too long to copy all their files and can never remember which ones they changed or added...

• who work on different computers and/or from different harddrives and get confused over which version is the newest:

Syncback, a small user-friendly freeware programme you can download and get to work within 10 minutes:

It really helps me to regularly backup my work without any pain involved. Extremely useful!

Sending big files over the internet

There is a website called Sprend that allows to upload and download files of up to 2GB over the internet, completely free with no registration needed. Originally a Swedish site, it has an English version now. www.sprend.com
A similar service is offered at the website www.wetransfer.com

Alternatively, one can use www.yousendit.com, where opening a free lite account allows sending files of up to 100MB and which permits up to 100 dowloads per file (good for spreading to many friends).

At these websites, uploaded files are stored for 7-14 days.
